[San Miguel, Bulacan – August 5, 2025]
A unique medical and wellness mission brought healing hands to one of the Philippines’ most elite military units the Philippine Army Scout Ranger Regiment at Camp Tecson, Bulacan.
The mission offered acupuncture, bentosa (fire cupping), hilot (traditional Filipino massage), and iridology counseling to around 100 soldiers and personnel who dedicate their lives to safeguarding the nation.
This heartfelt collaboration was led by Korean Oriental Doctor, Iridologist, and Chiropractor Dr. Steve Baek, together with the I AM WELL Acupuncture & Holistic Healing Team headed by Dr. Liza Santiago. The team included Pamela Paula Sacamos, Apple-vine Abenoja, Marites Bredonia, Luke Macababbad, Edgar Barcelona, Oliver Delacruz, and Christian Santiago.
The activity was made possible through the coordination and steadfast support of Major Jeffrey N. Buada, G7 FSRR, whose dedication ensured the mission’s success.
More than a day of care, the mission carried a profound significance — commemorating the 75th anniversary of Philippine-Korean diplomatic relations. In the 1950 Korean War, the Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea (PEFTOK) fought valiantly alongside Korean troops in historic battles such as Yultong and Hill Eerie. This shared history of sacrifice and bravery forged a lasting bond of brotherhood between the two nations.
Today, that same bond is reflected in a new form where Filipino and Korean hands once stood together in war, they now join together in peace, serving those who serve the nation.
